Paramount and Sega have truly done the impossible, turning away the initial “Blue Devil” that we saw in the infamous trailer and turning him into the loveable character we adore.  Despite mixed reviews, Sonic is a feel-good film for all ages that is hilarious and entertaining to watch.

Sonic delivers with its action, great CGI and superb acting, especially by Jim Carrey who plays the evil Doctor Robotnik.  Carrey steals the show here with his superb acting as this very wacky scientist who is just absolute fun to watch on screen.

I was nervous for the Sonic movie, hoping that it was good and not a waste of time and money.  I was pleasantly surprised to find tasteful humor, good voice acting for Sonic provided by Ben Schwartz and all around just an enjoyable experience.

No, it isn’t perfect, but it was fun and a welcome distraction for me from my hectic life.  Sonic is wholesome and hilarious with some great character design for Sonic that was redone in record time.

The score and action in this movie is spot on.  The effects are quite good, which Carrey 100% sells with his zany performance.  Carrey looks as if he’s really just having fun and enjoying himself in this movie.  He even has his own hilarious dance number which is totally evil.

Sonic himself is very cute and funny, but he is facing some personal issues of his own and he grows as a character in this movie.  He is loveable and humorous without being obnoxious and has some amazing chemistry with Tom Wachowski, played by James Marsden. Marsden really helps make Sonic feel like a real character in our world.

Overall, I really enjoy this movie and encourage fellow Sonic fans to give this a chance.  It’s not perfect, but it’s a fun and fast ride. This movie makes me excited for the sequel so we can meet more characters from this beloved franchise.
