Feeling bored at home with the same old daily routine? Try pouring out your thoughts in words.

Keeping a diary of your time in quarantine can help you stay focused and relaxed. Start by detailing your day-to-day activities. Write little reviews on books that you’ve read or movies and T.V. shows that you’ve watched. Delve into your feelings about the current situation worldwide and being quarantined at home. Your diary entries may not seem like much now, but after a few years, they will definitely be something interesting to look back on.

If you’d like to express any ideas during this time in a more creative and challenging way, try writing a poem or two. Some of the greatest poems in history were written to reflect on historical events. Who knows, you might even start to like poetry!

Not a fan? Maybe you should concoct a short story instead. They’re fairly easy to write and are a great way to improve your writing skills. If you enjoy writing one, do a few more and you could end up penning an entire anthology by the end.

Writing in any form is a fun and creative activity to pass the time while you’re at home, so give it a go if you’re looking for a distraction or new hobby.

In these difficult and stressful times, writing can be a calming way to create something good.
