This Tuesday at Willowick Golf Course, the girls’ varsity golf team fell short against Los Alamitos High School.

The girls still played valiantly with standout performances by seniors Milan Nguyen and Madison Le, who ended with scores of 35 and 38 respectively, and sophomore Kylie Phi, who ended with a score of 36.

The game had been so close that, originally, it had been called as a tie of 189-189 before being overturned to a loss after a comparison of both teams’ lowest scores with the Barons scoring lower.

“Conditions were tough out there and we tried our hardest. We made some silly mistakes and we’re all kind of disappointed that we lost our chance of getting the title Sunset League champions,” senior Milan Nguyen said. “Hopefully, things look brighter in the future.”
