On Tuesday, the Fountain Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team played their final game of the season against the Laguna Beach Breakers. The girls gave it their all but fell short against the Breakers with a score of 4-14.

Doubles team sophomore Sophie Vu and junior Iris Chau made outstanding plays during their first and third set, winning both with scores of 6-2. Doubles team freshman Katelyn Nguyen and senior Emily Tran played a strong game as well, winning their second set 6-0.

Despite ending their last game with a loss, junior Melody Hom still found positive aspects of the game to focus on.

“Although the team didn’t expect the outcome we wanted with our last-minute switch-ups, it was important for us to cherish our seniors’ last League Game together,” Hom said.

While the season has had some ups and downs, the girls did their best and look forward to attending League Finals.

League Finals will take place at Marina High School on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
