With many different micro trends in fashion, it’s interesting to see how students choose to stand out from their peers at school. One of the best ways to make a fashion statement is through shoes. Despite the hundreds of Nike Air Force 1s and Crocs that roam the grounds of Fountain Valley High School, here are a few students that take their shoe game to a whole new level.

See what some Barons are wearing, and read their thoughts below.

DOC MARTENS 14611 LEATHER
“This is my second pair of Doc Martens and I just wanted another pair and I thought these were super cool and I was going on the site and they were on sale… so I took my chance and bought the shoe. I like the black stitching since the traditional Doc Martens have yellow stitching and I just thought that was super unique as well as the studs,” freshman Ryan Kim said.
BIRKENSTOCK’S KYOTO SANDALS
“I saw someone wearing them and they also seemed comfortable so that’s why I bought them… They’re easy to put on in the morning and I don’t have to worry about putting on shoes, so it’s easy to come to school,” senior Ethan Nguyen said.
CONVERSE PLATFORMS
“I got [these] as a gift. They make me look taller,” senior Jonathan Tran said.
DEVON HEARTS DOC MARTENS
“They’re just really cute. I like that they’re really sturdy. I like especially how they’re comfortable because most platforms that I had before were really uncomfortable,” junior Grace Latto said.
KNEE HIGH BOOTS
“I’ve always wanted to have longer black boots to wear with my outfits because they just complement my styel really well and they’re also comfortable. I like that they’re solid in color and texture so it doesn’t clash with anything that I wear. And they have an extra heel on it to make me look taller,” junior Kelly Tran said.
