It’s finally here: senior spring! You’ve worked hard all three-and-a-half years of high school, and now it’s time to kick back and enjoy the last few months of your senior year. With college acceptance decisions just around the corner, it can be tough to shake off the stress and uncertainty. Don’t let that bring you down!

Here are some fun activities you can do to make the most of your senior spring while you wait for those all-important college decisions.

Plan a weekend getaway

A weekend getaway is a great way to escape the stress of waiting for college decisions and enjoy some quality time with friends. Whether it’s a camping trip, a visit to a nearby city or a trip to the beach, a change of scenery can do wonders for your mental health. Planning a getaway can also provide an opportunity to make new memories and experiences, which can help you to stay focused on the present and not worry so much about the future.

Try a new hobby

While you’re waiting for your college decisions, consider trying a new hobby. This could be anything from photography, painting, cooking or gardening. Pursuing a new interest can help you to relax and reduce stress, as well as provide an opportunity to discover a hidden talent or passion. You may even find that you want to continue pursuing this hobby after high school.

Host a movie night marathon

Movie nights are a classic way to spend time with friends and family, and hosting a movie marathon takes it to the next level. Choose a theme, such as your favorite childhood films or a selection of Oscar-winning movies, and don’t forget the popcorn, candy and comfortable seating. Movie marathons can provide a fun and relaxed way to spend time with those closest to you.

Have a picnic in the park

A picnic in the park is a perfect way to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the great outdoors. Gather your friends, pack a basket with your favorite snacks and drinks and find a picturesque spot to spread out a blanket. Whether you bring a frisbee or a deck of cards, the goal is to spend quality time with your friends, laugh and create memories. If you want to make it extra special, you can even plan a themed picnic, such as a Hawaiian Luau or a Hollywood glam picnic.

Attend a concert/festival

Music has the power to bring people together and lift our spirits, and attending a concert or festival can be a great way to enjoy live music and have a good time with friends. Whether you’re into rock, pop, hip-hop or classical music, there’s sure to be a concert or festival happening this spring that will appeal to your tastes. Make a day of it by enjoying live music, food and drinks with your friends.

Volunteer

While you’re anticipating your college acceptance letters, consider using this time to give back to your community through volunteer work. This could be helping at a local animal shelter, volunteering at a food bank or participating in a park cleanup. Volunteering can be a rewarding and enriching experience, and can provide a sense of purpose and accomplishment while you wait for your college decisions.

Create a bucket list

Creating a bucket list is a great way to stay focused on the present and not worry so much about the future. This could be a list of things you want to do before you go to college, such as visiting a new country, learning a new skill or trying a new food. Having a list of goals to work towards can help you make the most of your senior spring and give you something to look forward to.

Senior spring is a time to celebrate and enjoy the last few months of high school, while also anticipating the future. By trying new things, spending time with friends and giving back to the community, you can make the most of this exciting time and create memories that will last a lifetime.
