  1. Shower Shoes

Communal showers are gross, and common, unfortunately. Multiple people sharing the same shower means that unfamiliar bacteria accumulates between the crevices. Shower shoes are essential to putting your mind at ease by keeping your feet clean and away from all the bacteria on the disgusting shower floors.

  1. Shower Caddies

Unless you are a one product warrior, shower caddies make everything easier. Nothing is worse than being sopping wet and having to hug multiple slippery bottles to and from your dorm room. Having a shower caddy eliminates this issue and makes for a great way to stay clutter free and organized.

  1. Cloth laundry bags

No one particularly likes to do laundry, but we all have to at some point in our lives. In order to make the process less painful, all college students should bring a cloth laundry bag with them to college. Cloth means no harsh edges that stab you on your walk to the laundry room. An additional plus is that you can simply throw in the cloth bag right in the laundry with your clothes, as to not recontaminate your clean laundry with dirt.

  1. Fan

Many colleges don’t provide good, controllable air conditioning. So when the temperature reaches high degrees, you will soon wish for a good fan. If you are willing to make this investment, you will not be disappointed when you stay sweat free all year long.

  1. Water filtration system

Always beware of college tap water. Living alone, away from your parents, is harsh enough; we don’t need harsh water in our systems getting us sick. A water filtration system is necessary in a college dorm to provide refreshing water at any given moment.

  1. Command Strips

For those who love decorative walls for that extra “homey” feel, command strips are an absolute must. From installing hooks, picture frames and other heavy items, command strips quickly become your best friend. However, remember to remove these with care, otherwise you will be charged large sums for any damage repairs.

  1. Power Strips

With limited space comes limited power outlets. Between you and your roommate, there just may not be enough outlets to charge all of your devices. Power strips with multiple outlets will come handy for those late nights of studying.

  1. Cascading clothing hangers

College students need to learn how to maximize their space. Your closet space is going to drastically decrease when you go to college. That’s why cascading clothing hangers are absolutely necessary to take you from one piece of clothing on one hanger to five pieces of clothing on one hanger.
