Restaurant Review: Mario’s

If you’re looking for great and authentic Mexican food, then search no further because Mario’s is the place for you! Mario’s is affordable and is a secret hot-spot for local residents. It’s comfortably tucked in to the back corner of the Five Points Plaza, which is located right off the intersection of Beach Blvd. and Ellis Avenue.

Mario’s has been open since the 70’s, and has two other sister stores that are also located in Huntington Beach. And for the record, they have kept their reputation above all standards and their tradition alive for more than forty years running.

After hearing constant raves about this restaurant from my older brother and several of my friends, I decided to stop on by for a quick lunch to see what the hype was all about. I arrived around 11:15am, and was immediately seated. I noticed how there wasn’t a line or a wait, but then again, it was still early into lunchtime. Anyways, my waiter was so kind and patient. He quickly brought out freshly fried chips and their special salsa to start me off for the meal. It took me a while to finally decide on what I wanted as my main entrée, because there were so many choices to choose from on their menu.

At last, I went for the Special [Wet] Carne Asada Burrito, and boy I don’t regret my decision at all. It was neatly presented on the plate, and was served at a perfect proportion. My first bite into it, and I fell completely and utterly in love with it. It wasn’t too salty or too bland, nor too hot or too chewy. It was unique and was perfect to my taste!

After trying Mario’s out for myself, I really do recommend it to anyone who enjoys great Mexican food in a lovely calming atmosphere. Oh, and not to mention the massive line that was when waiting outside for a seat when I was departing the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!
