Anepalco’s Cafe

If you’re ever near Main Place mall and decide that you’re in the mood for some authentic Mexican food, you’re in luck! Just two minutes down the street is a homey, little, restaurant called Anepalco’s Café.

It’s perfect for breakfast or lunch and it just might be the best place to go for Chilaquiles. What are Chilaquiles? Tortilla chips, red sauce, scrambled eggs, cotija cheese, sour cream, avocado mousse, Pico de Gallo; all combined to create a perfect dish. At Anepalco’s Café, the chef puts a unique spin on this delicious dish. The tortillas are grinded and molded together to form a flawless bed for the eggs and the three toppings. The Chilaquiles is then surrounded by this tasty, red sauce. You can tell how much effort and care was put into this dish just by looking at it. Everything on the plate was arranged beautifully. Also, the sour cream, avocado mouse, and Pico de Gallo complimented everything just right; they kept the dish interesting.

Other dishes that I have tried were Huevos Divorciados, Anepalco’s sandwich, and the chocolate crepe. Anepalco’s sandwich was not one of my favorite dishes. The pork and Ciabatta  bread were dry and not very delectable. The Chocolate crepe was good, but not the best I have ever eaten. The Huevos Divorciados were just as elegantly plated as the Chilaquiles. The dish was split in half featuring two of the same omelets with a different sauce on each side.

Be adventurous! Go check out Anepalco’s Café and try out their awesome food. I would definitely go back just for their Chilaquiles alone. With the good food and homey atmosphere, I give it 4 out 5 stars. Pleasant eating!
