Cream Pan

I was exploring a little part of Tustin with my family until we stumbled upon a tiny, Japanese bakery. The sweet scent of freshly baked pastries lured us in like Scooby Doo to a Scooby snack. Once we stepped through the doorway, different kinds of sweet breads, croissants, and cakes surrounded us. What was this pastry heaven called? Cream Pan.

The assortment of pastries looked so delicate and beautiful behind the glass casing. The freshly baked breads were calling to us from the tables lining the walls. After battling over which heavenly dessert we should get, we decided on a strawberry croissant, tiramisu, and an assortment of sandwiches.

The strawberry croissant was a work of art. It had a perfect flaky brown croissant stuffed with layers of fresh strawberries and creamy custard. And it was finished off with a light dust of powdered sugar. The sweetness of the sugar and custard were coupled perfectly with the tartness of the strawberries. The tiramisu was decorated so simply, but elegantly in its small clear cup. The ladyfingers were delicate, but not soggy from the coffee. If extreme sweetness isn’t your thing, then this tiramisu is just for you. It has nice balance of sugar and coffee. Cream Pan’s sandwiches are nothing complicated, but the bread makes it all worthwhile. Japanese bread making is a talent. How it gets so fluffy and soft never ceases to amaze me. The bakers at Cream Pan have a gift.

Cream Pan has all you would ever want from a bakery. I beg you to try this place out. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Pleasant eating!
