Final Game

Last Tuesday our boys’ volleyball team had their last game against Newport Harbor.

Sadly, they had lost to Newport 0-3, losing every match. The boys played close contests in each match, but despite their hustle they could not win a single match.

In the first game, the Barons went up neck and neck against Newport. They held a strong lead and carried the momentum throughout the entire game. However, with the score at 20-24, they got stuck in rotation. Newport came up from behind and snatched victory away from their hands; ending with a final score of 24-26.

In the second game, although slightly discouraged, the boys still had a lot of fight left in them and similar to the first game, they carried the momentum of the game. After losing the ball to Newport at 10-11, the Barons struggled to gain back a lead. Newport started on a run of 4 points, but the Barons would always chip away the score to a one point deficit. But for every push from the Barons the Sailors would one up the score, allowing the Sailors to keep their lead. The second game ended with 20-25.

In the third game the Barons showed signs of fatigue. The game started off slow, and both sides were giving up control of the ball with  missed serves and out-of-bounds hits. After suffering from two straight losses, our barons had a hard time pushing through mentally. This led to their defeat by a score of 18-25.
