Boys tennis delivers consecutive wins

Boys tennis brought home two more consecutive wins this week for a total of 5 straight victories.

The team beat Laguna Hills on Tuesday, flattening the other team 18-0. On Wednesday, the Barons challenged Troy High School, and once again dominated 15-3.

Although a match was also scheduled for Thursday against San Clemente High School, the game was cancelled because of rain. It has been postponed to Monday, March 10.

John Lieu (’14) won all of his sets both days, while Winston Ngo (’14), Nico Caman (’14), Kyle Ho (’14), and Eric Nguyen (’14) also had impressive performances.

The team won runner-up in the league last year, and this time around, they’re trying for first.

Ngo said, “Ever since our achievement of 2nd place in league last year, we’ve been working hard towards 1st place.”

“This year we’re looking strong,” said Ngo, “We’ve won our first few matches confidently and believe that this trend will continue throughout the rest of the season.”

Barons will be playing at home on Wednesday, March 12, on the tennis courts at 3 PM against La Quinta High School.
