Varsity girls golf was crushed by Los Alamitos on Thursday, with a score of 222 to 227.

Before the match, the team was hopeful, recovering from last week’s loss.

“I just hope we do better than we did last time,” said Vivienne Nguyen (’17), third-year player.

Sadly, the girls did not do as well as they had hoped and Los Alamitos prevailed.

However, after the match, the girls were not as discouraged as last week and felt as though they improved.

Taking a positive perspective, Nguyen said, “I hit really well compared to last week. This sparked the team’s enthusiasm and belief that they can improve before the end of the season, not matter how they are performing at the moment.

“I’m going to be taking lessons from [an instructor at Mile Square] now and she’ll improve me,” she said.

The girls’ next match is Oct. 7 against Trabuco Hills, and the girls are sure to impress.
