With the homecoming dance coming up on Oct. 12, FVHS has been busy with homecoming elections for king and queen.

Elections began with two days of nominations when students nominated seniors during lunchtime in front of the Activities office. Then ASB created a list of the top ten the candidates who were received the most nominations.

“All the underclassmen, the juniors, and sophomores of ASB had the responsibility of counting the lists,” said ASB vice-president, Nick Nguyen (‘15).

The list was posted on the window of the Activities office with the names of the top twenty nominees. Then, each student at FVHS was able to vote during history class for up to five boys and five girls for homecoming court.

The list of the top five boys and girls was released and posted on the window of the Activities office on Sept. 30.

This year’s homecoming court consists of Ramsey Hussain, Jun Koo, Travis Schloderer, Jake Tipple, and Scott Wilson as the top five nominated boys. The top five girls include Alex Guembes, Bailey Johnson, Minh Thu Le, Amanda Stark, and Valerie Stark.

Minh Thu Le (’14) said, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and everyone involved makes it so much more memorable.”

The homecoming king and queen will be announced during the halftime show at the football game against Marina High School this Friday, Oct. 11.
