Last week FVHS wrestling participated in the Temescal Canyon Dual Meet Tournament.

At the tournament, the team participated in several different duels against teams from around the state, rather than the traditional individual tournament-style for wrestling. Teams that participated in the tournament included Poway, Birmingham, Lakeside, and Temescal Canyon.

FVHS wrestling managed an overall team win against Birmingham, Temescal Canyon, and then finally Lakeside.

Despite that the team losing against Poway, Andrew Morgan (’15) was able to beat Cody Doyl from Poway, who is ranked ninth in the state for his weight class.

Wrestling fought hard but was unable to place in the tournament; however, the team is practicing hard in preparation for their next matches.

The next tournament will be at Godinez High School on Jan. 4 to Jan. 5 due to the team being unable to participate in the Las Vegas Classic during winter break. The first season match at home against Huntington Beach on Jan. 2.
