Last Friday their first Sunset League game of the season, boys basketball suffered a loss against Los Alamitos, 45-88.
The Barons lost momentum within the first three minutes of the first quarter, and never regained the lead. By the end of the first, Fountain Valley was met with a double-digit deficit, 8-26.
Early turnovers and unconverted shots later continued the plague the team for the rest of the game. The first half ended with a 36-point lead for the Griffins, 59-23.
Cory Bitzer (’14), Jordan Venters (’14), and Calvin Le (’16) led the scoreboards for the Barons, each scoring 7-points.
The boys team will come home again Jan. 29 to face Edison.
