Barons Wrestling Defeats Los Alamitos

Baron Wrestling went against Los Alamitos, last Thursday. The Barons came out victorious, winning at 33-31.

The first match of the night was senior  Vincent O’ Leary (’15) who lasted for well over three rounds and won the match.

The Barons kept up a strong front against the visitors Los Alamitos and marched ahead with victories from Vincent Pham (’15), Adam Mancini (’17), Adam Sebba (’15), Mark Morales (’16), Noah Jarvez (’15), and Eztevan Jameinz (’16).

Their were a few close moments but FVHS Barons prevailed in the end keeping Los Alamitos from winning.

“We wrestled Los Alamitos tough and came out on top, it was a hard match but we were ready for it,wrestling has been practicing more intensively with practices being shorter but also being more focused then before.” Vincent Pham (’15) said “Team has been spending a lot of time focusing on technique, speed and agility, weightlifting, endurance, and much more.”

Next up for our wrestling team is the annual Five Counties wrestling tournament hosted right here at Fountain Valley High School beginning Jan. 18. The tournament continues through Saturday and Sunday, and is considered one of the major tournaments in the west coast.
