With the second half of the match starting, both sides knew they had to secure a victory quickly. As the second half was halfway over, it seemed as if this game would go into overtime. However, with 9:07 left in the half, Co-Captain Larry Turner (’15) approached the goal with the ball. The goalkeeper from Marina came out to try to steal the ball from Turner, but Turner was able to avoid the keeper. Realizing the goal was open since the keeper dived out, Turner (’15) passed the ball the Co-captain Jake Shubin (’15), who was right in front of the goal, and was able to score.

With the clock ticking down the last few seconds of the game, the final score of second game of Sunset League for the Barons was 1-0, defeating Marina in a close match.

“We’ve got a long, long road ahead of us, but, I’m stoked,” said Turner (’15),  “We doubled last year’s record, so, we’re moving.”
