Breanna Bui (‘18) and Misty Le (‘20) led the girls varsity golf team to a victory against Edison, on Sept. 12, 2016, at home course Mile Square Park, with a final score of 240-216.

Bui shot an excellent score of 37, one over par, and Le shot 41, five over par.

“I was psyched that I got a birdie on the first hole which got me thinking that I was going to play well that day, and I did,” Bui said.

The par for nine holes at Mile Square Classic Golf Course is 36 and she was the only one over even par. Bui was surprised to see how their team played because last year, Edison beat the girls. This year however, the girls easily won.

The team’s scores, individually, were also consistently good. Mostly in the low forties, the girls played well and had no issues defeating our rival school. Although they played well, the girls have played better and want to achieve that score again.

Individual improvements were made and the girls are prepared to face Marina, a school that will be difficult to beat, away at Meadowlark golf course on Thursday. The top six girls will also be playing in the Peninsula Tournament on Friday, Sept. 16.
