On Wednesday, the girls’ varsity golf team defeated their opponents in a home game against Corona Del Mar High School. The Barons won the match with a final score of 180-256. The team’s score of 180 was the lowest score that girls’ golf has ever shot in school history.

The game started off well with the Barons delivering solid performances. All the scores accumulated were under par and the team was leading. Later on, they experienced missed hits that evened out the score but still left the opponents trailing in the Barons’ wake.

Standout players include junior Anh Nguyen with a score of 0, shooting exactly on par, along with freshmen Madison Le and Misty Le with scores of three and one under par, respectively.

Throughout the game, the Barons never once let the opponents gain the lead.

“My expectations were really high; I thought it would be an easy win… [I think] the consistency of our scores led to our success,” said Misty Le.

The Barons have been delivering strong, consistent performances so far and with this latest win under their belts, the team hopes to secure more victories during the season.
