Valentine’s Day is soon approaching and with it comes new books to read and buy. Here are some to get you in the mood of romance or to help you relax after the new semester stress .

Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte

Genre: Suspense, Drama, Romance, Fantasy

Four murdered queens with a conspiracy that went terribly wrong makes this novel a fast and intriguing read.  The book comes out on Feb. 6, and it written similar to how the popular Divergent books were written.  There’s romance, tons of confusing plot twists, and terrifying suspense to keep you reading.

Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

Genre:  Humor, Drama, Romance

From the author that brought us Love, Simon, we return to Simon’s world. This time we follow his best friend Leah and her struggles with romance.  With incredible writing and some great humor, Albertalli writes yet another hit that is very aware of what it’s like to be a senior in high school who is trying to figure her life and love out.

Geekerella by Ashley Ponston

Genre:  Romance, Drama, Humor

A retelling of this classic tale comes with a modern, geeky twist.  Told through conventions and fandoms, the protagonist Elle Wittimer enters a cosplay contest win a chance to attend a ball with her favorite actor.  She must however, beat her step sisters, and be able to show her favorite Starfield actor that she sees him as more than a heartthrob.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

Genre: Romance, Drama, Humor

You’ve probably seen the popular Netflix film of this novel, so why not give the book a shot?  When Lara Jean’s letters to her crushes all go out at once, adorable chaos ensues. Now, all five of the boys know, and Jean’s love life goes from a fantasy to an out of control reality.

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

Genre: Romance, Suspense, Drama

This title might spoils the ending, but readers will still fall for the ill-fated couple in this novel despite the their ending.  Silvera reminds us that there’s both equal amounts of good and bad when it comes to life and love. Friendship, love and loss are explored in this bold novel that will most likely leave you in tears by the end.

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

Genre: Fiction, Romance, Adventure, Fantasy
Chances are you miss the Divergent series and loved reading the novels for their writing style and unique plot.  Well, never fear, because Roth created a new series for us to fall for all over again.  This fantasy filled with incredible adventure takes place among the stars in a galaxy where romance is bound to happen. This book is set to arrive in mid Feb.
