Artists respond: What does a post-pandemic world look like to you?

The COVID-19 pandemic has heavily impacted many aspects of our lives and has changed the way we lived for the past year, but warmer weather and the light at the end of the tunnel have begun to shine through during the current vaccine distribution. Baron Banner staff illustrate what they feel a post-pandemic world looks like to them.

I am excited for life to go back to normal and see my friends normally again, I can’t help but be nervous, considering what’s been going on.

A post-pandemic world to me would look like business as usual; I wish to be able to return to that normalcy that we had prior to the pandemic. Maybe now after the pandemic, there’ll be more emphasis on sanitation and people might wear masks whenever they have a cold or other sickness. Though, as long as I can go outside without fear of COVID-19, I’ll be satisfied.

In order to slow the spread of the COVID-19, we sacrificed many things, one of which was our ability to be together. I believe it is beyond important that, as a sense of “normal” becomes more prominent, we can remember the times when we used to stand together in large crowds, all of us united. From the invigorating cheer of the crowd at a sports game to the harmonious singing of fans at a concert, we must be reminded that humans are meant to celebrate and cheer, together.

After being cooped up in their homes for an entire year, people have come to realize the value of life. They have missed out on a vacation or job opportunity straight out of college. From now on, people will begin to live their lives without fear, taking every moment to say “let’s go.”

A post-pandemic world is envisioned to be like an enjoyable walk in the park. Friends and families can go outside more often and revert to normalcy while still wearing a mask as a precaution.
