Varsity boys soccer faced off the Newport Harbor Sailors at home on Wednesday, January 30th, and unfortunately lost 1-3.

The Newport Harbor Sailors were up 0-1 in the first half, but Barons were able to comeback with a goal by Oscar Fernandez (’13). But unfortunately, Newport scored twice more in the second half and the Barons were unable to catch up.

“I think that we didn’t play our game today,” said junior Brett Nomura, “We didn’t show up ready to play before this game, and it hurt us.”

Currently, Varsity Boys soccer is ranked second in Sunset League, behind Los Alamitos and tied with Edison.Although the team faced a serious loss on Wednesday, the Barons must look forward to their next crucial game at Los Alamitos on Friday.
